Invitation from the IVMA President

DR Roy Barton

You are cordially invited to attend the IVMA annual conference on Wednesday 12th November 2014.

In fact, anyone with an interest in value for money is welcome to attend this event.

It is also the inaugural RELAUNCH event for our institute of Value Management.
Despite being founded back in 1992, we have spent the past year or so investing in our future,
and the future of anyone interested in better value for money from capital projects.

The relaunch of the Institute has been 12 months in the making and the result is a re-invigorated organisation with a new constitution and new energy. This is not just a new look for the Institute. We have taken time to reconsider the fundamentals of the work we do and the benefits we provide. IVMA’s role is to help everyone achieve best value for money by promoting the benefits of the Value Management process, to apply and protect the Australian Standard and to support and foster an accredited group of professional Value Management practitioners working to that Standard.

Australian business and government – and the community at large – have been forced to face the fact that resources are finite and waste levels are too high. Australia’s public and private sectors need to ensure that every dollar spent is on the right thing, for the right reasons and at the right time to generate the best possible value from that dollar.

In the current financial climate we are all realising that savings have limits, so there has never been a more important time for Value Management skills that provide a confident way to achieve and demonstrate best ‘value for money’. This conference is a vital step on this journey, and I would like to encourage everyone with an interest in better value for money from major projects to attend please.

See you there,
Roy Barton Phd
